These earrings are very important to me. They are my first physical creation as a designer and the one I am most proud of. Initially, I wanted to bring to the world a piece that symbolizes my passion for Japanese culture.

Looking for inspiration I came across KAIZEN, a philosophy that, in short, is about continuous improvement. KAIZEN leads us to improve 1% every day, in order to achieve a great improvement over time.

Personally, I was always very anxious. I started a thousand projects that after a couple of weeks or days I abandoned. I think the KAIZEN hoops had a strong impact on me. They made me be a faithful believer in this philosophy and so I was able to see quite a few changes.

This year a loved one went through a very critical situation. However, this philosophy kept me strong; it made me realize that although it was improving in small steps, very little, with improving 1% each day the recovery was inminent.

This first design made me see how sometimes objects can become much more than just objects.
